In the early 1980’s, the median mortgage payment was more than double what it is today. Owning a home today is more affordable than you think.
In 1981 it took 36 percent of a median family’s income to pay the mortgage on a median-priced home. Today, it takes only 15 percent – a historic low – making now a great time to buy a home.
